Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Review

10/28/2017

I have bouts of hyperpigmentation on my cheek area, some on my chin, and forehead. I have been doing a particularly routine for about two months before incorporating the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop serum into it. As this product is from Klairs, I have high expectation on it because I have tried their Supple Preparation Toner a few times and I must say that I was impressed by that item. On the other hand, this Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop serum is said to add a burst of energy into the skin because it is formulated with Ascorbic acid. Anyway, continue reading to know if this product is worth the hype or not!

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop serum is made to add an extra boost of energy to a tired looking skin. The serum is formulated with pure Ascorbic acid, and other ingredients derived from nature. This serum is said to be gentle yet powerful with all the antioxidants in it due to the Ascorbic acid it contains. It is a safe and non-irritating serum that aims to revitalize, maintain, and transform the skin.

Containing about 5% Ascorbic acid, this serum is made to suit even those with the most sensitive skin.

Before we proceed, let us first discuss a few benefits of Ascorbic acid to our skin. Basically, Ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C contains various antioxidants that aids in cell renewal and production of collagen. Vitamin C is also considered to be a gentle skin exfoliant since it triggers cells to produce new ones and shed the old skin. Vitamin C, because of its collagen production inducing property, helps the skin in maintaining a firm, smooth, and toned appearance. Aside from that, Ascorbic acid also helps in retaining the moisture within the cells to get rid of tired and dull looking skin.

Packaging:

If I can say something about it is that I am in love with its container! The serum comes in a plastic bottle and holographic prints on it. This also came in a box that is also adorned with holographic texts and a print of the bottle. I love how the packaging is very easy on the eyes and how it is straightforward. For the serum to be dispensed, it came with a dropper which is a plus for me because it is very hygienic to use.

The serum presented itself in a transparent liquid. It feels slippery and kinda oily but these textures actually came from one of its ingredients which is glycol—a chemical that hastens the absorption of Ascorbic acid into the skin. You may feel a slight warming sensation when you spread the serum across your face but it is perfectly normal. Also, keep in mind that if you have a sensitive skin, it is recommended by the manufacturer of this product to mix a few drops of the serum into a cream or lotion so as to make it a little less harsh for your skin.

In terms of its scent, the smell is similar to that of a freshly squeezed citrus juice but very mild. Nothing too strong, so people with sensitive noses, rejoice! Jk. Hehe

The serum does not get absorbed quickly so I suggest you tap it into your face very lightly to increase absorption. Also, wait for a couple of minutes before proceeding into the next step of your skincare routine.

This is my latest skin condition. Raw photos. Photo above was taken two weeks before the publishing of this entry. I was able to use the product more or less 28 days. I still have a few bumps here and there but it did improve my skin color and texture. Since my skin has gotten better with my new routine that I started two months ago, before starting this serum, I don't have any problematic areas on my face aside from some redness and a few dark spots. Incorporating this serum in my routine has significantly changed the game, upon first application, I woke up to a brighter and more plump looking skin.

T I P S:

Apply this serum after toning as to enhance absorption.

Ascorbic acid is highly sensitive to the sun so I suggest the use of this at night for better absorption and also to avoid discoloration.

Since this serum is sensitive to heat and sun, it is highly recommended to store this product in a cool, dry place to avoid immediate discoloration and clouding of the liquid. It is also highly suggested to consume this product within a few months not exceeding half a year after opening to ensure effectiveness of the serum.

Since ascorbic acid is definitely acidic in nature, you may feel a slight tingling sensation on first application especially if you have sensitive skin. However, stop using the product if you have encountered further irritations such as breakouts and redness.

Do not use Ascorbic acid formulated skincare products with other chemical exfoliants such as AHA, BHA, and Niacinamide.

Final Verdict:

This serum worked fine for me and the possibility of me purchasing it again is high. I do notice that the improvement in skin texture and tone does not happen as fast. It took me a couple of more weeks to notice some fading of my sun spots that can be seen on the sides of my cheeks. One more thing I have to say, if you have oily skin, this serum may not fare quite well for you as it is already slippery and my look oily on its own.

  1. This one is so expensive for my wallet's liking hahahuhu. I opted to an alternative (Elujai Propolis) for my hyperpigmentation instead and I think it's really doing well. Still, if given the chance I would love to try this out! Lovely review and photos, Pat ♥ I'm glad it worked well on you ☺
